Anyone who is less than six feet tall knows how difficult it can be to decorate a standard-sized Christmas tree. You reach and stretch and still you can't seem to get those ornaments exactly where you want them. And the tree topper - forget it! First you try stretching, but can't reach. Then you pull over a chair but find yourself teetering dangerously into the tree as you try to affix that angel or star. You finally get it on only to step back and realize it is crooked. Want a better, safer and easier way to get the job done? Why not try using a step stool? It may sound easy enough, but few people ever think about pulling out a step stool to help them decorate their tree. Think about it. With a simple step stool you can reach those high branches and even get your string of lights completely around the trees girth for a change. Adding ornaments is fast and easy, especially if one person stands on the stool while another hands them the ornaments to be hung. Plus, the second person can step back, looking for areas that need an ornament adorning them. When reaching for the top of the tree, be sure to follow these tips: - Use the right height step stool or a step ladder (usually a three step one is best). If you're using a folding step stool or step ladder, be sure the legs are locked securely into place. - Hold onto the stools railing or the wall for better balance. Don't rely on the tree as it (and you) could come toppling down. - Place the step stool on even ground to keep it steady. A rug or a tree skirt could throw the step stool off balance making it wobbly and dangerous. - Ask someone else to stand at the bottom of the step stool and act as a stabilizer for you should you lose your balance. This helps to get the entire family involved in decorating the Christmas tree and is a great way to create wonderful Christmas memories, too! Using a step stool is a great way to decorate your next Christmas tree safely and easily without the hassle of leaning into those picky branches and stretching to reach those tip-top places that always look empty. Next time, get the whole family involved and make it the best looking Christmas tree yet.
