Outdoor Banners NY

How outdoor banners saved a small business in New York, NY

As I was sitting at my desk the other day the phone rang. I answered and found that on the other end was a small business owner that was on the verge of a breakdown. It seems that her local sign company had a problem when making the sign for her new business. It would be two weeks before they would have her sign and she was due to open in two days. She was beside herself and didn't know what to do. She found us on the internet and called hoping we could help. I assured her that we could come up with a solution to the problem. It was really quite simple. She could use outdoor banners until her sign arrived.

She hesitated for a moment and I asked her if there was a problem. She said she didn't want something that looked "cheap" since this was an upscale shopping area. I put her mind at ease. Technology allows us to create very professional looking color banners. Vinyl banners are no longer the "ugly stepchild" that they used to be. Vinyl banners are also an inexpensive alternative for many businesses. An outdoor banner would be the perfect solution to her problem.

What size should I make my outdoor banners?

This is a common question when someone is about to purchase a banner. The answer is that it depends on a number of factors. Where will you be hanging the sign? How far away will people be when they are viewing it? What do you want it to say? We discussed all of these and came up with a size and design that would work well for her business. Her color banner would "pop" and create plenty of interest. Our art department put together a proof for her approval and as soon as we received final approval it was sent ot our production department. We needed to make sure that this outdoor banner made it in time for the grand opening. All was well and I knew that our client would be pleased. And then the phone rang...I heard the familiar voice on the other end. "I don't know how to hang my banner" she said with defeat in her voice.

How do you hang outdoor banners?

Hanging an outdoor banner is not as difficult as it may seem. If there are two poles that the banner will be hanging between you can simply attach it with rope. But what if, as in this clients situation, you needed to hang it on the front of a brick building? Not to worry, I am here to give you the solution. In the masonry world there is a screw called a TapconŽ that is used in brick, cement, block and all similar materials. The TapconŽ screw can be used with the grommet holes to hang the vinyl banner. If you plan to hang you banner higher we recommend a stronger fastener. The RedheadŽ concrete bolt would be our choice for strength and safety. For a very heavy duty hold you can choose the Lag Shield Anchor. This consists of a cylindrical sleeve (the shield) that is placed in a hole that you predrill. The lagbolt is then put into the shield. As the lagbolt is tightened down the shield expands, gripping into the masonry. The lagbolt can be easily removed and replaced as needed. The shield will remain in the masonry.

When I explained the options to our client I could hear the relief in her voice. I assured her that her vinyl banner was in production and would be there before the grand opening. A few days later I received a call from her. The banner had arrived and she was very pleased with it. Her fear of it looking "cheap" was for nothing. The color banner caught the attention of many people and her opening day was a success.
